Your Role

Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Site Director is responsible for the overall performance and leadership of a manufacturing facility within the food industry.

You are the operational leader on site, overseeing all functions including production, maintenance, sanitation, and production planning. You ensure the achievement of business objectives while fostering a strong culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

This role is a replacement following an internal transition

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all plant operations, including production, maintenance, sanitation, and planning;
  • Ensure full compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards (HACCP, GMP, CFIA/FDA as applicable);
  • Drive operational performance to meet or exceed targets related to safety, quality, service, cost, and productivity;
  • Define, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement continuous improvement initiatives;
  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime;
  • Ensure effective production scheduling and optimal resource allocation to meet customer demand;
  • Champion a strong health & safety culture and ensure compliance with all regulations and internal standards;
  • Lead, coach, and develop department managers and plant teams to build high-performing operations;
  • Manage site budgets, control costs, and contribute to overall financial performance;
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with supply chain, quality, R&D, and commercial teams to support business growth.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Food Science, Operations Management, or a related field (preferred);
  • 10–12+ years of progressive leadership experience in food manufacturing or a similar industry;
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulatory requirements;
  • Proven leadership and people management experience in a plant environment;
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing operational budgets;
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills;
  • Results-driven with a strong focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement.
