Enterprise Architect, Richmond

New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking an Enterprise Architect to support a major public-sector client in defining and delivering enterprise-wide technology solutions aligned with business strategy. This role will lead the development of architecture artifacts, establish a shared architectural vision across business and IT stakeholders, and guide delivery teams in implementing scalable, efficient, and value-driven solutions across a portfolio of products.

Responsibilities

Lead the translation of business objectives and requirements into high-level solution architectures and blueprints

Define and evolve architectural vision, technology roadmaps, and solution strategies

Architect and oversee a portfolio of products, ensuring alignment with business goals and technology standards

Collaborate with product managers, delivery teams, and stakeholders to define product components, interfaces, and deployment topologies

Evaluate vendor solutions and proposals, providing recommendations based on value, risk, and ROI

Guide the development of common services and technical enablers within the architectural runway

Support delivery teams by providing architectural guidance and ensuring solution fitness for purpose

Contribute to IT governance by ensuring technology decisions deliver business value while mitigating risks

Facilitate collaboration across business, IT, and third-party partners to drive architectural alignment

Promote best practices in system design and architecture disciplines across teams

Requirements

Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)

9–12 years of directly related experience in enterprise architecture or solution design

Minimum 6 years of experience defining business application portfolios and/or designing large-scale enterprise systems

Proven experience producing architecture artifacts and deliverables aligned with business strategy

Strong track record of collaborating with business stakeholders, IT teams, and third-party vendors

Demonstrated ability to establish and communicate a shared architectural vision across a portfolio of products

Experience providing technical guidance to delivery teams and influencing solution design decisions
