Long haul truck driver (Richmond)

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate Experience: Will train Tasks Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy Load and unload goods Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment Perform brake adjustments Perform emergency roadside repairs Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle Receive and relay information to central dispatch Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses Driver''s License (Class 1 or A) Transportation/travel experience Long-haul Weight handling Up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs) Personal suitability Flexibility Organized Reliability Support for youths Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth Work Term: Permanent Work Language: English Hours: 45 to 50 hours per week Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2ne7r1
