HIBIKI Yakitori & Ramen Bar – Richmond, BC We are looking for a strong kitchen leader to support our Kitchen Manager and help maintain kitchen operations, food quality, consistency, and team performance. This position is ideal for someone who has experience working in busy kitchens and can confidently lead service while maintaining organization, communication, and quality standards. Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Kitchen Manager to support the daily operations of our restaurant. This role involves supervising kitchen staff, ensuring food quality and safety standards, and assisting in managing overall restaurant functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, team management, and restaurant operations, with a focus on delivering exceptional service and maintaining high standards in a rapid-paced environment. Responsibilities - Assist the Kitchen Manager in overseeing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation and service. - Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality food production. - Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures. - Support team management by training new staff and providing ongoing coaching to existing team members. - Assist in inventory management, including ordering supplies and monitoring stock levels. - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area according to health standards. - Contribute to menu planning and recipe development as needed. - Serve as a leader on the floor during shifts, ensuring excellent customer service and smooth restaurant operations. Requirements - 2+ years kitchen leadership or strong line cook experience - Able to work efficiently under pressure - Strong understanding of kitchen organization and quality control - Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset - Reliable, responsible, and detail-oriented - Japanese restaurant or ramen/izakaya experience is an asset We are building a stronger long-term team and looking for people who want to grow together with the company.
