Controller - Robert Half (Richmond)

Our client is looking for a solid Assistant Controller/Controller to support their business on a 13 month contract to help oversee the day to day accounting and drive improvement and efficiencies in the business operations. Job Responsibilities - Manage full-cycle accounting for a single entity, including close, reconciliations, accruals, and general ledger activity. - Prepare single entity financial statements under IFRS reporting standards. - Oversee cash flow, expenses, AR, and AP functions. - Support manufacturing accounting, with particular focus on inventory and inventory-related reporting. - Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting packages. - Complete quarterly financial statement reporting using an established template. - Perform variance analysis and provide strategic financial insight to support leadership decision-making. - Lead the external audit process and coordinate all audit deliverables. - Manage minor intercompany transactions and chargebacks. - Supervise two team members and oversee day-to-day accounting operations. Requirements - Proven experience in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior-level accounting leadership role. - Strong hands-on experience with full-cycle accounting. - Solid understanding of IFRS reporting and ability to work within an IFRS-based reporting framework. - Experience in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to inventory accounting, inventory reconciliations, and cost/inventory-related analysis. - Robust knowledge of cash flow management. - Experience performing variance analysis, identifying key business drivers, and providing meaningful financial insight to leadership. - Ability to work effectively in a small business environment, balancing analysis with day-to-day transactional oversight. - Prior experience supervising, mentoring, or reviewing the work of direct reports.
