Afterschool Teaching Assistant (Mixed Age K– (Richmond)

Position Overview This is an Assistant Teacher position. You will follow FCIC’s teaching structure, lesson templates, and classroom systems. Training and guidance will be provided. You will work with mixed-age students (K–G6) daily. - Lead structured Phonics and Math classes for K–G6 students. - Lead short, flexible Fun Learning sessions such as Science or Social Studies. These are activity-based and supported by provided materials. - Support worksheet time by guiding students, checking work, providing feedback, and offering one-on-one help as needed. As you gain experience and demonstrate readiness, there may be opportunities to gradually take on more independent planning responsibilities. Key Responsibilities - Deliver K–G6 Phonics and Math classes using provided lesson plans - Lead short Fun Learning sessions daily in a structured but versatile format - Supervise and support mixed-age students during worksheet time daily - Review and check worksheets daily and guide students toward improvement - Provide individual encouragement and academic support - Assist with classroom materials and maintain organization - Ensure student safety and supervision at all times - Work collaboratively with the teaching team Who We’re Looking For - Comfortable working with mixed-age children - Patient, responsible, and proactive - Team-oriented and open to feedback - Willing to follow training and established teaching systems - Education background preferred - ESL/EAL or tutoring experience is an asset - Clear criminal record check required Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 per week Work Location: In person Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2nxx84
