With state-of-the-art facilities in Canada, Norway, and Poland, we deliver world-class service to customers around the globe. Heli-One Canada is looking for an Apprentice AME for Structures "S". This candidate would be hired on the bases they will become a licensed “S” ACA. The ability to travel occasionally domestically and internationally would be a great asset since we are always requiring structures people to support the embedded maintenance program with DND. Key Responsibilities: - Follows approved repair/modification procedures for component or aircraft, consulting internal procedures that have been TC approved, original equipment manufacturers (OEM’s) technical data, and work package instructions. - Positions and aligns subassemblies in jigs or fixtures, using measuring instruments, following blueprint lines and index points Inspects completed work to identify any needed rework before signing off; ensures that repaired components meet prescribed standards and tolerances. - Performs serviceability tests on repairs using test equipment specified in technical manuals. - Completes work package documentation by signing/stamping off after finishing all designated operations Bolts, screws, or rivets accessories to fasten, support, or hang components and subassemblies. - Cuts, trims, files parts, and verify fitting tolerances to prepare for installation. - Drills holes in structure and subassemblies, and attaches brackets, hinges, or clips to secure installation or to fasten subassemblies. - Learn to meticulously inspect and test installed units, parts, and equipment, ensuring optimal fit, peak performance, and strict compliance with industry standards using advanced measuring instruments and precision test equipment. - Installs units, parts, equipment, and components in structural assembly, according to blueprints and specifications, using hand tools and power tools. - Locates and marks reference points and holes for installation of parts and components, using jigs, templates, and measuring instruments Qualifications, Skills & Attributes: - Transport Canada approved training program Certificate eg. BCIT, SAIT - Human Factors Certificate - Logbook - Problem-Solving Skills: Develop cutting-edge critical thinking and advanced troubleshooting abilities by learning directly from our seasoned aviation professionals, preparing you for complex challenges in aircraft maintenance. - Confidence & Professionalism: gain confidence in their abilities and learn the importance of accountability, responsibility, and teamwork in aviation. - Industry Knowledge: Master comprehensive aviation regulations, cutting-edge safety protocols, and industry best practices, building a robust professional foundation that positions you at the forefront of aerospace maintenance. - Hands-on Learning: gain practical experience under the guidance of aircraft engineers, helping them master complex maintenance procedures. Salary range: $56,594 - $71,732 Based on experience Work Schedule Choice: - 8 hour days, Monday to Friday (06:00-14:15) or; - 10 hour days, Monday to Thursday (06:00-16:30) Time Off: - 4 weeks vacation starting with the option to purchase an additional week through payroll deduction - 10 days sick leave - 13 Statutory Holidays observed Pension: - Manulife: mandatory 4% with Company matching 4% Medical / Dental / Disability coverage: - Extended Medical and Dental through Sun Life (3 tiers to choose from) - Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Life Insurance and AD&D; coverage - Travel health insurance which extends to immediate family members. Uniforms/Personal Protective Equipment - Brand name uniforms from Heli-One uniform store: $450 first year / annual top-up thereafter - $240 safety shoe allowance, every 2 years - Prescription safety glasses covered by Heli-One above what Extended Medical covers - Molded Ear Plugs - Fitted Respirator - Cold Weather/Rain Gear (for applicable areas) Travel: - Mobile Repair Team (MRT) deployment opportunities around the world - Hotels, airfares, rental cars covered - Daily per-diem, rates dependent on country - All travel time paid Unionized Position: - Union dues are 1% of salary Eligibility Applicants must have the legal right to work in Canada and meet any clearance requirements relevant to the role.
