Job Summary We are urgently looking to hire a passionate and skilled Pastry Cook with a solid background in French patisserie to join our weekend team. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in creating refined and high-quality pastries. You will be responsible for producing a range of baked goods and desserts that reflect our commitment to excellence and authenticity in pastry. Responsibilities Prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, cakes, and desserts according to established recipes. Decorate cakes and pastries with artistic flair, ensuring visual appeal and adherence to quality standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations at all times. Package finished products for display or sale, ensuring freshness and quality are preserved. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation of menu items during service hours. Monitor inventory levels of baking supplies and ingredients, assisting in ordering as needed. Stay updated on industry trends and techniques to continually enhance skills and offerings. Experience Minimum 2–3 years of professional experience in a pastry cook role, preferably in a bakery or patisserie setting. Proven experience working with French pastries such as croissants, éclairs, tarts, entremets, and macarons. Robust understanding of classic and contemporary patisserie techniques. Strong knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations is essential. Experience in cake decorating is highly desirable, showcasing creativity and skill in presentation. Familiarity with kitchen equipment used in baking processes is important for effective operation. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality. Must hold a valid Food Safe 1 Certificate. Must be available to work early morning shifts and weekends. Having a personal vehicle is an asset due to early start times.
