The Mechanical Foreman is required to work closely with the Project Superintendent regarding the production goals and the role the maintenance department plays in achieving them. Oversees all phases of equipment maintenance, risk controls, and materials management - Requirement and Work Experience: - Journeyman Certificate (421A) (preferred) - 1-week Redpath Mechanical Supervisor Orientation - 7+ years’ experience as a Heavy-Duty Technician (preferred) - 5+ years’ experience in the mining industry - 2+ years’ experience in a lead role Mechanic The primary role of the Mechanic is to perform preventive maintenance and repairs to diesel, electrical, hydraulic and air operated equipment. This includes mobile equipment hoists, compressors, drills, small tools and miscellaneous equipment of a similar nature. Requirement and Work Experience - Journeyman level qualification (trade school or college diploma) – (preferred) - Minimum of 3 years underground mechanical experience Health and Safety: - Having the authority and responsibility to maintain a safe and efficient working setting - Following Redpath Canada Limited health and safety standards and systems, including the Five Point Safety System and the Cardinal Rules, and reporting any unsafe acts or conditions - Responsible to ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment required in the performance of the work. - Must have knowledge of the WHMIS legislation and know how to effectively use an MSDS sheet. - Comply with the Act and Mining Regulations that apply to the work area.
