Laboratory Chemist– Sample and Extract Preparation Full-time
Compensation: CAD 25 - CAD 25 - hourly

Responsibilities
Sample homogenization, extraction and extract cleanup
Performing routine laboratory tasks in support of all analytical chemists including operation of rotovaps, soxhlets, manifolds and other laboratory equipment; solvent rinsing glassware, preparing reagents and packing chromatographic columns.
Recording accurate and complete routine data on work-up sheets to provide a complete legal history of the samples.
Become proficient within one or more of the lab groups– Sample Prep, Extraction, Cleanup, LC and Technical Group.
Training and mentoring of peers in methods and standard operating procedures.
Apply method approved additional extract cleanup steps as required.
Qualifications
Education: Technical Diploma or BSc. in Chemistry or related science
Ability to work independently and in a team environment to achieve common goals and objectives.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted during work.
Highly organized, self- motivated and energetic.
Willingness to participate in flexible work schedules (including evenings and weekends).
Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
Candidates must be proficient in using several types of computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint&Outlook).
Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment. Benefits
