Description
Position Summary Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Control Inspector is directly accountable for product control including final inspection, in‑process inspections, documentation and control of non‑conforming material; control and verification of production process changes, tooling control, and control of monitoring and measuring devices. Key Responsibilities - Acquire knowledge of process specifications and materials. - Implement and continually improve product inspection plans. - Perform in‑process and final inspection of detail parts, minor and structural assemblies; plan their execution, documentation, and record retention. - Perform inspection duties to ensure all products, processes, and services comply with applicable airworthiness, company, or customer quality requirements. - Manage nonconforming material control in accordance with the company's quality assurance procedures. - Provide assistance in quality review of Engineering Masters. - Liaise with quality engineering, methods engineering, design engineering, and supply chain to develop resolutions and implement root‑cause corrective actions to technical or quality problems. - Manage the control of monitoring and measuring (inspection and test) devices in accordance with established company quality assurance procedures. - Actively participate and contribute as a member of the quality assurance team. - Monitor, measure, and communicate product and process metrics. - Propose and support improvement projects related to quality assurance procedures. - Participate and support corrective action requests as a result of nonconforming trend analysis. Qualifications - Transport Canada accredited College Diploma in Aeronautics (required, an asset). - Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s license (AME) (asset). - Technical degree or diploma in Aerospace Engineering (asset). - A minimum of 2 years aerospace‑specific quality inspection and/or equivalent. - A minimum of 3 years of hands‑on experience in an inspection, production, or handling product role. - Experience in the maintenance of De Havilland DHC1 thru DHC6 aircraft types (asset). - Working knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulation CAR 561, 571, and CAR Std. 57,561. - Understanding of Certificates of Conformance (CoC) issues by part makers and Airworthiness Release Certificates (FAA 8130/TCAA Form One/EASA Form 1). - Experience in continuous improvement. - IFS ERP system experience (or similar, e.g., Total FBO, TRAX, etc.) for the control and issuance of aeronautical parts and materials (asset). Skills - Strong attention to detail. - Knowledge and ability to read and understand complex aircraft design drawings/blueprints and perform measurements/testing of parts made to these designs. - Strong focus on both internal and external customer service with excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Good understanding of Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc. Health & Safety At De Havilland Aircraft of Canada (DHC), we are committed to protecting our people, customers, shareholders and the public through Health & Safety Excellence.
