About the role: The Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing the overall asset care, ensuring maintenance efficiency (planning and scheduling) and effectiveness (reliability engineering). The manager oversees a team that includes Automation Engineers, Storekeepers, Planners, Schedulers, Technicians and Reliability Engineers, and is accountable for meeting the maintenance OPEX budget while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities:
Lead and coach the maintenance team, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their roles effectively and develop their capabilities through training, mentoring and growth opportunities.
Provide regular feedback and encourage cross‑functional collaboration, ensuring each team member grows while contributing to plant success.
Conduct timely Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) activities, maximizing efficiency and cost‑effectiveness.
Manage the maintenance budget, aligning all spending with business objectives and cost‑saving initiatives, including Zero‑Based Budgeting (ZBB).
Implement Global Standards and oversee BCOS (Barry Callebaut Operating System) pillar work processes, particularly Autonomous Maintenance (AM) and PM, to maximize operational uptime and asset lifetime.
Optimize planning and scheduling processes in collaboration with the Planner and Scheduler to improve maintenance efficiency.
Collaborate with the Reliability Engineer to enhance maintenance effectiveness by focusing on equipment reliability and lifecycle management.
Ensure consistency in asset management practices across all teams and locations, providing guidance and support as needed.
About you:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, asset management or a related field.
Minimum 7–10 years of experience in asset management, maintenance leadership or reliability engineering within a manufacturing environment (preferably food manufacturing or processing).
Strong knowledge of TPM, RCM and maintenance planning/scheduling methodologies.
Experience managing maintenance OPEX budgets with a focus on cost optimization and alignment with ZBB principles.
Proven leadership skills with a focus on coaching, developing teams and driving continuous improvement.
Proficient in CMMS (preferably IBM Maximo) and other asset management tools.
Strong collaboration and communication skills for effective cross‑functional teamwork.
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, using data to inform decision‑making and optimize maintenance processes.
Bilingual in French and English.
