Mechanical Engineer– Service and Installations . This role combines hands‑on field work with technical analysis, supporting maintenance activities and managing service projects and load testing for cableway and ropeway installations across Canada.

Full‑time

Responsibilities

Handle technical customer service requests and coordinate actions to resolve reported issues.

Respond to calls from the 24/7/365 emergency line on a rotating basis.

Provide technical supervision for maintenance services, load testing, and related reporting.

Perform inspections and audits of cableway installations.

Assist with the supervision and training of customers during deployment of new cable transportation equipment.

Manage technical services and select service projects in collaboration with engineering departments across Canada, the United States, Austria, and Switzerland.

Stay current on technological developments affecting products and maintenance activities.

Work on compliance mandates for existing installations with Canadian regulatory authorities (RBQ in Québec, TSSA in Ontario, and other provincial agencies).

Qualifications Education and Professional Credentials

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.

Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT/CPI).

Willingness to obtain a professional engineering license in Ontario and other Canadian provinces as required (fees covered by the company).

Professional Experience

3 to 5 years of relevant experience in a similar position.

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge and hands‑on experience in service, maintenance, commissioning, and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment.

Electrical and civil engineering knowledge.

Project management experience.

Proficiency with standard computer tools and 2D/3D design software (Microsoft Office Suite, Siemens NX, AutoCAD, SAP2000, etc.).

ASP Health and Safety on Construction Sites certification (an asset).

Technical rigor: Precision in diagnostics, failure analysis, and service reporting.

Availability and Mobility

Availability to travel within Eastern Canada.

Willingness to undertake short business trips within North America and, occasionally, Europe.

Valid driver’s license with no restrictions.

Valid and unrestricted passport.

Languages

French: Advanced level (reading, writing, listening, speaking).

English: Advanced level (reading, writing, listening, speaking).
