Automotive Service Writer Saint John

Overview We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Service Writer to join our automotive dealership team. This position bridges clients and technicians, ensuring accurate communication, skilled service delivery, and efficient repair order management. AEC specializes in European and luxury vehicle diagnostics and repair for BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Jaguar, Land Rover, Porsche, Volvo and others. This role requires professionalism, strong technical comprehension, and the ability to communicate complex repair information clearly, confidently and with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. Duties Greet customers promptly and professionally, listening carefully to their vehicle concerns Write detailed repair orders based on customer descriptions and technician assessments Explain repair recommendations clearly, including necessary services and optional upsells Coordinate with mechanics to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of work Sell additional services or maintenance based on vehicle needs and customer interests Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments efficiently Maintain organized records of all service orders and customer interactions Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns Assist in scheduling appointments and managing the flow of service work throughout the day Requirements Previous dealership experience or mechanic knowledge is preferred, providing a solid understanding of automotive repairs Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally Sales experience, especially in selling additional services or products, is a plus Mechanical knowledge to understand repair processes and communicate effectively with technicians Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and recordkeeping Qualified appearance and demeanor, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences This position offers an engaging setting where technical knowledge meets customer interaction, providing opportunities for growth within the automotive industry.
