Aquatic Safety Instructor at YMCA, Saint John

Elevate community health as a Lifeguard and Swim Instructor with YMCA Southwestern New Brunswick. Ensure aquatic safety while providing high-quality swim lessons tailored for every skill level.

In this role, you will work collaboratively with the Aquatics Supervisor to create an enjoyable and secure environment for all swimmers. Your duties encompass monitoring the pool for safety, leading swim lessons, and actively participating in emergency care situations. This is a summer term, casual position with flexible scheduling options.

Key Responsibilities:• Monitor pool area for safety compliance • Administer lifesaving first aid and care when necessary • Lead structured swim lessons for various age groups • Cultivate rapport with participants and share progress updates • Keep thorough records of participant advancements

Requirements:• 15 years or older at the time of applying • Current National Lifeguard Service Award required • Valid First Aid&CPR-C with AED certification• Preferably certified by YMCA, Red Cross, or Lifesaving • Availability for at least 4 shifts per month
