**Division: Infrastructure and Development Services** **Job Status: Summer Student** **Number of Positions: 4** **Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am - 4:30 pm** **Wage: $18.60 per hour** **Posting Date: Monday, March 9, 2026** **Closing Date: Sunday, March 22, 2026** **Company Biography** The County of Lambton is an urban-rural area in southwestern Ontario that is home to over 126,000 residents. The Corporation's seven divisions operate programs and services for the residents of Lambton County such as land ambulance, provincial offences court, three Long-Term Care Homes, 25 library branches, two museums, an art gallery, archives, local roadways, public health services, housing services, social services, building services and planning and development services. Lambton County is a community dedicated to economic growth, environmental stewardship and an enhanced quality of life through the provision of responsive and efficient services and collaborative efforts with its municipal and community partners. **Position Summary** To undertake various projects in the Roads and Waste Management Divisions and assist other Public Works staff to ensure that projects undertaken are performed effectively and efficiently to the County’s requirements. Duties to be performed at various County facilities including County owned road allowances, County landfills, Works depots, etc. **Job Duties and Responsibilities** Operations Maintenance: - Provide traffic control for various roadway maintenance, rehabilitation, and capital improvement projects. - Perform general labour as required: grass cutting, brushing, signpost installation, cold patching, sweeping, etc. General: - Incumbents must keep up-to-date on all relevant legislation, collective bargaining agreements, County Policies and Procedures, etc. ensuring that these are implemented as prescribed - Incumbents must possess the physical ability to meet the duties and responsibilities of the job description and/or the requirements identified within the position's Physical Demands Analysis. These describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the incumbent in this classification. They are not an exhaustive list of all job duties in the classification. Other duties may be assigned. **Supervision Requirements** Direct Supervision: Not applicable Indirect Supervision: Not applicable Functional Authority: Not applicable **Credentials Required** Minimum Formal Education Currently enrolled in an Ontario high school or a post-secondary institution for the following school year. Experience - Experience in computer applications (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Outlook, Word, Access, PowerPoint) is an asset. - A valid Ontario driver’s licence is required. **Summer Student positions with the County of Lambton may be dependent on funding and the funding criteria, which specifies that students must:** - Be between 15 and 30 years of age - Registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year and returning to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year - Canadian citizens, permanent residents or have refugee protection status under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act - Legally entitled to work in Canada - Will not have another full-time job
