Description
Hours: This is a full time position with flexibility in scheduling based on the successful candidate’s preference. The role may be structured as either: - 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM), or - 32 hours per week over a 4-day work week. Occasional after-hours attendance at networking and community events may be required. Wage: Up to $25/hour, based on experience. Summary: The WorkPlace Group is a non-profit employment service office offering free services to job seekers and employers. We are proud to be a part of the Windsor Regional Employment Network. Our office is located in Sarnia, Ontario, and provides services throughout Lambton County. The Job Developer is responsible for building relationships with employers in the community and supporting job seekers in securing and maintaining employment opportunities. This role combines employer outreach, recruitment support, client advocacy, and community engagement to help create successful employment matches. Responsibilities: - Build and maintain positive relationships with local employers to identify hiring needs, promote services, and create employment opportunities for job seekers. - Provide recruitment support services including job postings, resume screening, interview coordination, and job fair/event participation. - Proactively connect clients with suitable employment opportunities based on their skills, interests, experience, and career goals. - Support clients experiencing barriers to employment by identifying workplace accommodations, adaptive strategies, and retention supports, while educating employers on inclusive hiring and disability awareness practices. - Assist employers and clients with training incentive opportunities, placement agreements, required documentation, and program guidelines. - Attend networking and community events to promote services, build employer connections, and strengthen community partnerships. - Collaborate with local organizations, businesses, and community partners to support workforce participation and employment opportunities within Lambton County. - Provide workplace problem-solving, mediation, and follow-up support to assist with employment retention when challenges arise. - Collaborate with internal staff to support program goals, placement outcomes, reporting requirements, and quality service delivery. - Maintain employer records, placement tracking, statistical information, and related documentation in accordance with organizational and contractual requirements. - Ensure compliance with organizational policies, contractual guidelines, reporting requirements, applicable legislation, and documentation standards related to employer and client supports. - Stay informed on local labour market trends, hiring demands, and community employment needs. - Comfortable networking, building relationships, and engaging with employers in a fast-paced, community-focused environment. Qualifications: - Degree or Diploma in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, Human Resources, Social Services, or a related field. - Experience in sales, customer service, recruitment, employment services, marketing, or business development is considered an asset. - Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills with the ability to build relationships with employers, clients, and community partners. - Ability to work independently, take initiative, manage competing priorities, and adapt in a fast-paced environment. - Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook. - Must be willing and able to travel throughout Lambton County and possess a valid G-Class Driver’s License, regular access to a reliable vehicle, and proof of insurance. - Commitment to working in a socially inclusive environment and responding with sensitivity and awareness to diverse client needs and experiences.
