In this role, you will apply your knowledge and experience to inform and support business unit processes, including risk management, learning and competencies, communications, procedures, work plans, compliance and inspection programs. You will be an integral part of the Environment, Health and Safety team at our Sarnia refinery. You will also be part of a team of highly motivated professionals working in a refinery that produces gasoline, distillates, asphalt, heavy fuel oil, petrochemicals and solvents.You will be responsible for regulatory monitoring, environmental reporting and tracking, and implementing environmental best practices to support the Sarnia refinery. The position requires the ability to influence to ensure operational discipline and continuous improvement.Salary Range: $85,000 - $99,000 AnnuallySalary ranges are included for job postings where required by law. We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills.Responsibilities:Ensure compliance with water, air and soil regulationsProvide environmental compliance advice to various refinery teamsWork proactively with regulatory bodies to ensure approvals and permits are inplace, manage relationships with stakeholders and government bodiesParticipate in project management of environmental requirements and evaluate control measures as projects progressSupport the planning of major plant shutdowns to ensure safe and efficient executionEnsure risk management processes and tools are used to effectively identify hazards, provide controls to mitigate identified risksLocation and other key details:The position is located out of our Sarnia Refinery Office, located at 1900 St. Clair Parkway, Sarnia OntarioThis position follows a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday.
