Function: Engineering and Engineering Services Job Summary: Our team is growing. You will report to the IE Engineering Supervisor. The Electrical Engineer provides on-site technical support and will support capital electrical projects. This position is accountable for providing electrical support on daily plant activities, projects, and I/E Reliability. You will be directly involved in preparing, and/or reviewing cost estimates, studies, designs, and Preventive Maintenance strategies to verify completeness, accuracy to the site''s needs, and compliance with the applicable Regulations and industry best practices. Job Description: You will report to theIEEngineering Supervisor. The Electrical Engineer provides on-site technical support and will support capitalelectrical projects. This position is accountablefor providingelectricalsupport on daily plant activities,projects,and I/EReliability. You will be directly involved inpreparing,and/orreviewingcost estimates, studies, designs,and Preventive Maintenance strategiesto verify completeness, accuracy to the site''s needs, and compliance with the applicable Regulations and industry best practices. You will: Support, promote,andparticipatein all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs and activities,and ensure compliance withinthe IE discipline. Work withinapplicablecodes,industrystandard practices, and company operating standards tomaintain, install, commission Electrical Systems up to , including substations, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, drives, synchronous and induction motors, generators, etc.,with some responsibility for instrumentation and controls within the plant. Responsible forensuringthe Electrical Systemmodel(SKM)ismaintainedfor changes in the plant withperiodicthird-partyvalidations. Providetechnical advice and review the development of Engineering Work Packages,Preventive Maintenance Plans,Standard Operating Procedures,and Hazard Assessmentsrelating tothe Electrical System. Represent the IE Engineering Groupas part of the Reliability Leadership Team. Conduct andparticipatein investigationsofplant downtimetoidentifyroot causesand actionable solutionsto prevent futureoccurrences. Respondand supporttroubleshootingwithin a 24/7 plantenvironment. Collaborate with Maintenance and Operationsregardingequipment performance and preventative maintenance strategies. Be aSenior Authorized Person to the Electrical System, which may includeauthoring,reviewing,orapproving Order to Operate and Hot Electrical work permits. Develop and managesingle-discipline electrical projects, which may include Requisitioning necessary materials, managing budgets, field coordination, and following MOC protocol. Liaise with Electrical Authorities (Hydro One, OEB, IESO, ESA, etc.). You Have: Bachelor''s degree in electrical engineering Knowledge of national codes, industry standards, and government regulations fortheinstallation of electrical systems and equipment in a chemical industrial setting. Knowledge of Electrical Engineeringdesign, calculation,and analysisforchemical manufacturing. Knowledge ofelectrical system modeling with either ETAP or SKM software is an asset Experience in Safety Instrumented Systems, IEC 61511 (or equivalent), and Safety Life Cycle analysis isan asset. Experience withmicroprocessor-based protective relays (SEL,Siprotec, MP-3000s)andrelatednetworking. Knowledge of Protection Schemes such asfast bus protection, fast bus transfer, islanding,anddual comparison blocking is an asset. Experience with Hazardous Area Classificationdesign and applicableregulations.
