College of Nurses of Ontario registration in the Extended Class (NP-Primary Health Care or NP-Adult) required Baccalaureate In Nursing (BScN) required Masters Degree in Nursing (MScN or MN) required CNA Certification of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing preferred Current BLS certification requiredCurrent GPA or NVCI preferred Principal Duties
To function as a Nurse Practitioner working in collaboration with other health care professionals to enhance the provision of quality care in Mental Health and Addiction Services settings- Eating Disorder Program Participates in a comprehensive assessment of clients including vital signs, weight, systems and functional review, cognition screening, vision and hearing assessmentsAssists with assessment, treatment, planning and coordination of client care. Consults with physician/psychiatrist when the client’s condition requires care beyond the Nurse Practitioner’s scope of practice Maintains current knowledge of mental health nursing and interdisciplinary practice Act as a role model and provide leadership in clinical practice, education, research, and quality management.Collaborate with other disciplines to best meet the needs of both the client and their family Support and embrace the philosophy of Service Excellence and Patient and Family‑Centred Care Participate in building a culture of safety and partnering with each other to improve the safety of client care processes and systemsInteract with others in a way that advances the goals of the organization through co‑operative working relation. Perform reflecting the Mission, Vision, Values and Code of Conduct of Bluewater Health Participates in unit/department and Hospital Quality Improvement initiatives Completes continuing education requirements as necessaryActs as a coach, mentor, resource and positive role model for recent staff and students Other related duties as assigned Statement
