The Lambton Kent District School Board is seeking a temporary teacher to deliver an innovative arts curriculum that aligns with Indigenous traditions and cultural perspectives. This role emphasizes both artistic exploration and supports transitioning students from grade eight to nine. Candidates will work primarily at a First Nations community and local secondary school, contingent upon sufficient enrollment.
Key Responsibilities:• Deliver NAC1O program integrating land-based education • Facilitate arts activities reflecting Indigenous culture • Support transitional programs for grade eight to nine • Coordinate field trips that expand student learning • Collaborate with community stakeholders and educators
Requirements:• Ontario College of Teachers Certification required • Experience with Indigenous arts and culture preferred • Familiarity with land-based teaching strategies an asset • Knowledge of local Indigenous communities preferred • Experience working with Indigenous students beneficial
