Engineer Instrumentation & Control (I&C;) Technical Services - Contract Length: 6 Months - Location: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Raise is currently hiring an Engineer Instrumentation & Control (I&C;) Technical Serviceson behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client is a Canadian global leader in exploration, mine engineering, and environmental protection. Description The Engineer, I&C; (Technical Services) serves as a key technical contributor or discipline design lead on multi-discipline project teams. This role focuses on executing end-to-end instrumentation and control systems engineering for high-consequence, heavy industrial environments. The successful candidate will design, size, specify, and sign off on technical documentation supporting facility sustaining capital and major projects, with primary operations rooted in Saskatchewan and Ontario mining and processing facilities. Responsibilities - Serve as or support the instrumentation discipline design lead on multi-discipline project teams - Must be able to perform instrument & valve sizing and selection for heavy industrial plants - Familiarity with industrial networking protocols and ICS security - Prepare engineering drawing and documents such as the instrument index, control philosophy, P&IDs;, instrument data sheets, instrument location plans, loop drawings, cable schedules, PLC and other panel drawings as required - Prepare and evaluate bid documents for materials and contracts - Perform vendor shop drawing review - Assist with preparing material costs and timing estimates - Occasional travel to project sites in Northern Saskatchewan and Ontario may be required - Signing and/or sealing of technical documents, including drawings, technical specifications, data sheets, engineering lists (such as equipment list, pipeline list, tie-in point list, valve lists etc), and calculations Qualifications - Intermediate (4–9 years) or Senior (10+ years) professional engineering experience. - Hands-on experience in heavy industrial plant environments (e.g., mining, mineral processing, oil & gas, or heavy chemical utilities). - Documented site experience with a strong practical understanding of field instrument selection, installation, and troubleshooting in harsh operating environments. - Proven track record of error-free asset documentation and calculations where missteps impact plant safety or production. - Ability to advocate for the I&C; discipline while negotiating space and interface requirements with electrical and mechanical peers. - Familiarity with Canadian electrical codes, CSA standards, and heavy industrial safety regulations. - Education and Certifications - Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Instrumentation, Electronics, or closely related discipline). - Registered Skilled Engineer (P.Eng.) with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS), or immediately eligible for inter-provincial transfer.
