A Day in the Life The President of the Consulting Division is responsible for the full operational and financial leadership of our global Consulting segment, a $500M+ revenue business with approximately 1,500 employees operating across multiple geographies, including the United States, Canada, and Australia. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this executive owns full P&L; accountability and is responsible for delivering sustainable revenue growth, EBITDA expansion, disciplined margin governance, strong cash performance, and operational scalability across a complex, multi‑service consulting platform. The division operates across diverse regulatory environments, technical disciplines, client sectors, and currencies. Key Responsibilities - Enterprise Segment Leadership – Financial Performance Own full P&L; responsibility for the Consulting Division, including revenue growth, EBITDA, margin expansion, working capital, and cash flow. Deliver consistent, profitable growth aligned with enterprise performance targets. Drive operating leverage and improve segment profitability through disciplined cost and margin management. Lead annual operating plans, long‑range forecasts, and capital prioritization in partnership with the COO and Finance Leader. Strengthen forecasting accuracy, financial transparency, and performance accountability across geographies. - Enterprise Segment Leadership – Acquisition Integration Lead operational and cultural integration of acquired companies into the Consulting division. Realize acquisition synergies, including cost alignment, leadership integration, systems consolidation, and cross‑selling acceleration. Standardize project delivery methodologies, pricing governance, margin expectations, and performance management practices across legacy and newly acquired businesses. Align compensation structures, incentive plans, and leadership accountability to enterprise standards. Ensure seamless integration while protecting client continuity and employee engagement. - Enterprise Segment Leadership – Margin Governance Establish and enforce standardized global project management frameworks and financial controls. Strengthen utilization, chargeability, backlog visibility, pricing rigor, and project‑level profitability. Drive consistent margin measurement methodologies across service lines and regions. Ensure strong system adoption and data integrity across enterprise platforms including Workday, Salesforce, financial reporting, and project management tools. Clarify decision rights and governance structures to enable scalable, repeatable performance. - Partnership With Corporate Functions Operate effectively within Montrose’s shared‑services and matrixed structure by partnering closely with corporate leaders to achieve segment objectives. Partner with Finance to enhance budgeting rigor, margin analytics, forecasting discipline, and capital allocation decisions. Partner with HR to align organizational design, workforce planning, succession strategy, performance management, leadership development, and cultural integration. Partner with Safety leadership to reinforce a safety‑first operating model and ensure robust compliance performance. Partner with Marketing and Sales to align go‑to‑market strategy, brand positioning, client segmentation, and cross‑portfolio growth initiatives. Collaborate with Legal and Risk to manage contractual, regulatory, and enterprise exposure. - Growth – Market Leadership Strengthen executive‑level client relationships and strategic account management. Accelerate organic growth through disciplined market prioritization and integrated portfolio offerings. Identify service adjacencies, geographic expansion opportunities, and platform enhancement initiatives. Partner with Corporate Strategy team on acquisition strategy, due diligence, and integration planning. - Leadership, Talent & Culture Build and develop a high‑performing global Consulting leadership team. Establish clear accountability standards and performance expectations across regions. Lead succession planning and executive talent development. Foster a unified culture grounded in ownership, collaboration, inclusion, and safety. Serve as a visible and steady leader across geographies. Your Expertise And Skills - 20+ years of executive leadership experience in environmental consulting, engineering, or complex professional services. - Proven success leading a $500M+ multi‑geography business. - Demonstrated P&L; ownership with measurable EBITDA growth and margin expansion. - Extensive experience integrating acquisitions into scalable operating platforms. - Strong fluency in project‑based business economics and margin governance. - Experience operating within a publicly traded or similarly governed enterprise. - Demonstrated ability to lead effectively, within a matrixed structure, alongside corporate shared‑service functions. - Exceptional executive presence and communication capability. - Solid talent developer with experience leading large, dispersed teams. - High integrity and unwavering commitment to safety. Benefits This is a full‑time position with a salary range of $300,000 to $375,000, with Total Direct Compensation up to $525,000. Compensation is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location. The package includes advantages, 401(k) matching, holidays and paid time off.
