Description
Fortis Mining, Engineering, & Manufacturing is growing, and we're on the lookout for a passionate, detail-driven Pipefitter. The Pipefitter’s primary responsibilities include installing various pipe specifications, reviewing and interpreting blueprints and diagrams to understand requirements, properly fitting pipe and selecting the right type for the job, as well as troubleshooting and determining corrective actions on site. What You’ll Be Doing - Fit various types of pipes. - Use pipe fitting tools for cutting and attaching pipe to different materials. - Read designs, diagrams, or blueprints and identify exactly what type of pipe is required for the job. - Test, maintain, and modify pipe systems. What You Bring To The Table - Must provide proof of Apprenticeship level or Red Seal Journeyperson Certification. - Experience in cutting, fitting, attaching various pipe materials. - Experience in high-quality inspections, repairs, and maintenance of pipe systems. - Knowledge of piping systems relating to bolt-up of fittings and valves as well as measuring threading and cutting. - Must have excellent dexterity and precision in movement. - Any safety-related training and certificates would be beneficial, but not required. - Must be physically fit and able safely lift heavy loads up to 50 pounds. - Commitment to working safely and following safety protocol. - Strong attention to detail. - Ability to understand and follow instructions. - Ability to use judgement and apply discretion when making decisions. - Ability to work independently and in a team environment. - Strong time-management skills. - Possess a positive and professional attitude, set a high standard, and convey professionalism at all times. - Any valid safety-related training certificates would be considered an asset (i.e., WHMIS, forklift, etc.).
