As the Supervisor, Water Engineering, your duties will include: - Supervise, coordinate, and evaluate assigned staff, including payroll accuracy, performance management, training, and staffing recommendations. - Ensure compliance with corporate policies, legislative requirements, and occupational health and safety standards. - Prepare and review reports, studies, and plans; support short- and long-term capital, operations, maintenance, and administrative planning. - Identify and recommend operational improvements and process efficiencies. - Provide technical oversight of engineering designs, work orders, and projects related to water distribution and treatment systems, capital works, system extensions, maintenance, and replacement programs. - Review work orders, service applications, contracts, and specifications to ensure compliance with standards, safety, and regulatory requirements. - Coordinate approvals and project activities with municipalities, utilities, contractors, regulatory authorities, and internal stakeholders. - Support procurement activities, analyze project costs, and investigate variances. - Respond to customer inquiries and complaints and maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, regulators, and other stakeholders. - Review municipal applications and oversee field investigations related to insurance claims and third party service offerings. Qualifications: - Civil Engineering Technology Diploma with designation as a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.). - Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario is considered an asset. - Minimum five (5) years of experience with water distribution and treatment systems, preferably within a utility or related industry. - Demonstrated experience supervising staff and managing engineering or technical teams. - Strong knowledge of applicable water utility regulations, codes, standards, and infrastructure practices. - Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); familiarity with Access, Microsoft Project, and enterprise systems (e.g., Cayenta) is an asset. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational abilities. - Ability to plan, prioritize, assign, and schedule work effectively while working independently and taking initiative. - Travel will be required. - Must hold and maintain a valid Ontario driver’s license.
