Description
**Position Summary:** Reporting to the Plant Superintendent, the Production Supervisor (Sanitation) coordinates/oversees production operations on the assigned shift. Ensures production standards for safety, regulatory compliance, environment, quality, customer service and cost are met. As a part of the Plant’s leadership team, supports building and maintaining a culture of continuous improvement. **Work Schedule:** Afternoon shift, 3:00pm **Key Accountabilities:** - Coordinate/oversee Processing, Shipping/Receiving, and Sanitation on the assigned shift to achieve daily operational goals in accordance with approved production standards; - Provide effective leadership and direction to hourly employees through coaching, cross-training, and performance management; - Oversee Receiving/Shipping activities and personnels to ensure warehouse standards (Housekeeping, FIFO, Min/Max, 5S, Transaction, etc.) are being adhered to; - Demonstrate strong leadership in addressing any safety risks and hazards. Follow through to ensure the completion of corrective actions; - Drive key performance indicators such as labour cost, inventory level, reliability, efficiency, schedule compliance, and report variances daily on DDS boards or/and with other relevant production tools. **Requirements:** - Post-Secondary degree or diploma in engineering, food processing, or business management, with a minimum of 3-5 years of industry experience; a combination of education and experience will be considered; - Previous experience in Sanitation and understanding of the AMI principles are preferred but not necessary; - Proven previous Leadership experience with a crew/ team; - Strong knowledge in GMP, HACCP, WHMIS, and BRC certification; - Flexibility to work all three shifts (AM/PM/Night) and provide vacation coverage to other supervisors as and when needed; - Experience with MRP systems such as AS400 or SAP and lean manufacturing concepts (JIT, Kanban, VSM) are strong assets; - Clear and concise communication skills, ability to work cross-functionally, strong attention to detail and desire to problem solve, and ability to execute; - Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
