Line Cook/Prep Cook (Scarborough)

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our busy kitchen team. This role is vital to ensuring the smooth operation of food preparation and service, delivering high-quality dishes to our guests. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, strong food handling skills, and experience in a restaurant or food service setting. Responsibilities - Prepare ingredients and assist with food preparation according to established recipes and standards - Cook menu items efficiently while maintaining quality and presentation standards - Follow food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures at all times - Assist with plating dishes for service, ensuring consistency and accuracy - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including prep stations and cooking areas - Support the team during busy hours by managing multiple tasks simultaneously - Ensure all food is stored properly and inventory levels are maintained - Collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of orders and excellent guest experiences Qualifications - Prior experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role in a restaurant or food service setting preferred - Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques - Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail - Strong understanding of meal preparation, cooking methods, and kitchen operations - Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards collaboration - Serving experience or familiarity with restaurant service is a plus - Food industry knowledge including kitchen experience is highly desirable - Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks as needed Pay: $17.20-$19.00 per hour Benefits - Flexible schedule - On-site parking Work Location: In person Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2o35fl
