MAINTENANCE HELPER, Port Perry

Maintenance Helper— Part‑Time (Day Shifts 8:00am-4:00pm, 45 hours bi‑weekly) Location: Port Perry Place, Port Perry, ON Hourly Wage: starting at $27.90

Reports to: Environmental Service Manager

The Maintenance Helper will be responsible for specific operations related to mechanical, electrical and maintenance departments. They will serve as the first point of contact for any concerns related to the facilities of the home.

Key Responsibilities

Provide support in the maintenance department, painting operations of the home, general upkeep, and ensuring everything meets company standards.

Assist with property maintenance including exterior duties such as snow removal, property lighting, garbage, and other general operations.

Perform other duties as required.

Participate in company meetings as assigned and attend in-service education programs.

Knowledge And Skills Required

Post‑Secondary Certificate in skill trades or related program, or high level of experience.

One year or more of experience in a similar position with working knowledge of electrical and mechanical home operations.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to multitask, manage time, and work independently.

Ability to prioritize work and perform in a fast‑paced environment.

Ability to read, write and speak English.

Ability to work safely following established safety practices and procedures.

Passion for providing quality care to residents in a long‑term care setting.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Requirements

Negative vulnerable sector check completed within 6 months of start date.

Completion of a 2‑Step TB Skin test within the last 12 months of start date.
