OPSEU Pharmacist (Casual Part Time) Job Title: Pharmacist Status: Casual Part Time Department: Pharmacy Program: Pharmacy Services Location: Lakeridge Health Bowmanville and Port Perry Wage Schedule: $48.21 - $64.50 per hour OPSEU: 2600000699

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care and medication counseling.

Resolve and prevent drug-related problems within the patient care team.

Participate in medication reconciliation activities.

Teach students and provide education to nursing, medical and pharmacy staff.

Support the drug distribution system.

Qualifications

Current registration in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (Part A of the register).

Practical knowledge of pharmacology, current clinical guidelines, and ability to interpret lab values.

Strong clinical assessment skills for identifying and solving drug-related problems.

Excellent medication counseling skills.

Demonstrated ability to research and provide drug information effectively to patients and team members.

Excellent organizational and interprofessional teamwork skills.

Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Ability to exercise independent judgment and assess situations efficiently.

Previous hospital experience desired.

Conditions of Employment Employment terms are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348. Successful external applicants must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the past six months. Lakeridge Health may require a Pre-employment Health Assessment.
