Description
Hydrovac Operator The hydrovac operator is an essential member of the Southview team. Safely mobilizing the hydrovac unit to the jobsite and operating the on-board hydroexcavation system are the main requirements of the job. Training will be provided for people with a DZ or AZ license and a desire to succeed. What we offer: - Competitive hourly wage - Time and a half after 44 hours - Full benefits (health, dental, disability, and life) paid for by company after 3 month probationary period - Training and advancement opportunities - Per diem and expense reimbursements for out of town work Job Responsibilities: - Daylighting and soft excavating for telecom, hydro, gas, and underground services - Ensure health and safety is the number one goal by following policies, CVOR guidelines and acting in a safe manner at all times - Perform pre and post trip inspections by following company policies and procedure for routine maintenance, perform general housekeeping to ensure hydrovac unit is clean and operating properly maintained - Complete all required paperwork daily - Set up and inspect grounding and/or bonding procedures by Hydrovac operation - Must be able to work in confined areas - Handle and distribute construction materials, loading and unloading vehicles with supplies, equipment, remove all debris from work sites - Other duties as required Requirements: - A DZ driver’s license is the minimum requirement needed - Must have and maintain a clean driver’s abstract and CVOR - Must possess and exhibit robust safety acumen and demonstrate protected work practices - Previous hydrovac, trucking, vacuum truck or other related experience preferred - Previous experience in telecommunications is an asset - Mechanical inclination an asset - Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision - Operate Southview Group's equipment in a safe and professional manner - Properly document all Company, Federal, Provincial and Customer documentation/paperwork as required by law and or established policy in a clear and legible manner - Able to effectively and professionally communicate with on-site customer representatives Essential Physical Functions - Hear and distinguish emergency signals and instructions while on duty - Must be able to repetitively sit, lift, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, reach and crawl - Must be able to repeatedly lift a minimum of 50 pounds - Must be able to work in all outdoor elements (rain, snow, heat) for extended periods of time - Confined Space Entry may be required to accomplish tasks for some clients when applicable - Be able to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) - Must be capable of working extended hours and variable shifts - Must be eligible to work in Canada Job Type: Full-time Pay: $34.00-$48.00 per hour Advantages: - Dental care - Extended health care - Vision care Work Location: In person Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2ptggl
