Description
NSB Omega is searching for an Electrical Design Engineer for our MAJOR Utilities Client in St. John's, NL. Assignment Description Key Responsibilities This position will be an embedded position, for and Electrical Design Engineer with P.Eng designation and currently in good standing with PEGNL, working with the Electrical Engineering team group as a design engineer. The main responsibility is to support the Capital Program delivery and working inside a project team providing Electrical Design Engineering support. This will include designing, estimating, drawing development, specification development, Tender and Contract preparation, Contract management, Commissioning and Energization Plan development, on site support, and project close out. They will also support the Electrical Engineering department as required with Technical Service Requests and Standards development. Education & Experience Required Successful candidate must possess a Bachelor of Engineering - Electrical and hold a P.Eng designation within the Province of Newfoundland and be in good standing with PEGNL. Past Utility experience involving Terminal Station project/equipment up to 230 kV voltage level, including but not limited to terminal station layout, grounding studies, circuit breakers, disconnects, instrument transformer, power transformers, battery bank and chargers, etc. Experience working on Diesel, Gas Turbine, Thermal and Hydro Generation, projects or equipment such as: Stator or Rotor work, Switchgear, power distribution design, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), Motor Control Centres (MCC) etc Knowledge and foundation of Terminal Station grounding design and software to help ensure secure step and touch voltages would be an asset Experience in developing and managing engineering consultant contracts; Experience in developing and managing construction contracts; Experience with review of engineering drawings identifying problems and resolutions; Experience in engineering projects estimating, development and project management techniques; Ability to thrive as a participant and/or leader within a multi-discipline team of both internal and external resources; Proven communication, team and leadership skills; #J-18808-Ljbffr Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2pmgkk
