Role Description – Financial Controller Alinea Land Corporation is seeking a full-time, in office Financial Controller based in Burlington, ON. This role is critical to the financial success of our growing portfolio of community developments. The Financial Controller will lead full-cycle accounting and reporting for all corporate and property-related financial activity. Responsibilities include preparing and analyzing monthly and annual reports, cash flow management, CAM adjustments and reconciliations, budgeting and forecasting on both annual and multi-year horizons, HST filings, and variance analysis across both operational and development budgets. This is a hands‑on Controller role with full-cycle accounting ownership requiring deep involvement in day-to-day accounting, reporting, and development cost tracking. You will work closely with senior management to provide insights, identify cost‑saving or revenue‑generating opportunities, and support strategic planning. The role also includes leadership of the accounting and financial analyst team, managing year‑end audits, and helping to establish strong internal financial controls. Key Responsibilities Lead full-cycle accounting and monthly financial reporting Monitor and report on AR/AP, cash position, income, and expenses Complete annual CAM reconciliations and draft annual operating budgets Perform variance analysis at the individual asset and development budget levels Support 5-year financial planning and long-term budget forecasting Manage HST filings for active entities Provide audit support and lead year-end processes Analyze and report on job costs to assist the development team Identify and recommend cost‑saving and revenue opportunities based on financial data Ensure compliance with property tax regulations and implement financial controls Adapt to evolving responsibilities as the role grows with the organization Qualifications Minimum 2+ years of experience in the commercial property or land development sector Robust knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and variance analysis Proficient in Excel; experience with Yardi (Voyager or Breeze) is a strong asset Strong understanding of accounting principles and internal controls Excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management skills Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and motivate teams to do the same Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field CPA designation (or in progress) is an asset but not required Pay: $110,000.00-$125,000.00 per year Work Location: In person Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2psr6g
