Junior Data Engineer (Sherbrooke)

About the Role We are looking for an enthusiastic Junior Data Engineer to join our growing data team. In this role, you will help build, maintain, and optimize our data pipelines and architecture. This is an excellent chance for an early-career engineer to work with modern data tools, learn from senior mentorship, and help turn raw data into actionable business insights. What You’ll Do - Pipeline Support: Assist in building and maintaining robust ETL/ELT pipelines to move and transform data. - Data Quality: Monitor data pipelines, identify inconsistencies, and write validation scripts to ensure data accuracy. - Database Maintenance: Support the management of data warehouses and data lakes for downstream analytics. - Collaboration: Partner with data analysts and data scientists to understand their data requirements and deliver clean datasets. - Documentation: Create and update documentation for data schemas, pipeline workflows, and system architectures. What You’ll Bring - Core Skills: Solid foundational knowledge of SQL and programming languages like Python or Scala. - Data Concepts: Understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and basic data warehousing concepts. - Tools & Platforms: Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) or data tools (dbt, Airflow, Spark) is a strong asset. - Mindset: A strong desire to learn, great attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
