Location: remote/Hybrid (Montreal/Sherbrooke)
Overview We work to simplify the cloud for IT professionals so they can focus on what really matters, improving their customers’ lives. As a Specialist, Data Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing, building and maintaining data systems using the Microsoft Fabric platform, including lakehouse data, pipeline design, and Spark job definitions for batch and streaming workloads.
Responsibilities
Analyze and reconcile billing, subscription, and consumption data to identify anomalies, inconsistencies, and root causes of over‑ or under‑billing, supporting the definition of durable business rules to prevent recurring discrepancies.
Design and optimize the structure of databases and data lakes to store and organize a large volume of data.
Design and modify the necessary data models to support analytical needs.
Implement processes for complex data extraction, transformation and loading.
Set up automation processes to facilitate data flows from various sources to the data warehouse and storage environment.
Prepare and integrate data feeding analytical solutions using the Microsoft Azure platform (Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL Database, Azure Storage).
Document the established data transformation rules.
Manage costs related to usage and storage to maintain an optimized environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Master’s degree in Business Intelligence or a relevant field.
Minimum of 4 years of experience implementing data extraction, transformation and loading processes.
Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Azure data platform (Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Functions, Databricks, Azure SQL Database, Azure Storage).
Experience with data modeling for a data warehouse.
Proficiency in SQL.
Proficiency in Python programming.
Experience performing data analysis or reconciliation on complex datasets to detect anomalies and support root‑cause analysis.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; knowledge of French is an asset.
Strong analytical, synthesis, result‑oriented and customer‑service focused skills.
Initiative‑driven with good problem‑solving abilities.
