Application pratique démontrée et/ou expérience d’enseignement/de recherche dans les domaines suivants : - Handicaps cognitifs, physiques et mentaux tout au long du parcours de vie, de l’enfance et de l’adolescence jusqu’à la vieillesse, dans un contexte canadien. - Troubles physiques, notamment la paralysie cérébrale, d’autres troubles du système moteur, la surdité, les lésions de la moelle épinière, les maladies génétiques rares, ainsi que les maladies de Parkinson et de Huntington. - Troubles neurodéveloppementaux, notamment les troubles du spectre de l’autisme, les troubles épileptiques et les troubles d’apprentissage. - Troubles cognitifs, notamment les traumatismes craniocérébraux, la maladie d’Alzheimer et d’autres troubles neurodégénératifs. - Troubles mentaux, notamment la schizophrénie, la dépendance, les troubles affectifs, la dépression, l’alcoolisme, le TDAH et d’autres troubles du comportement. - Éducation, intervention précoce/financement/services et soins centrés sur la famille, transition vers l’âge adulte, emploi, accès aux soins de santé et aux soins médicaux, vie autonome, santé et bien-être des proches aidants, qualité de vie. - Fondements empiriques et politiques des programmes communautaires de réadaptation et de soutien qui offrent des services de défense des droits, d’éducation, de gestion de cas, de counseling et d’autres types de soutien aux personnes ayant des handicaps physiques et développementaux et à leurs familles, tout au long de la vie. - Principaux cadres théoriques, recherches et enjeux de politiques dans la pratique auprès des personnes ayant des handicaps. - Connaissance approfondie des politiques qui influencent la prestation des services de santé et des services sociaux aux personnes ayant des handicaps et à leurs familles. - Obstacles sociaux et économiques à l’inclusion des personnes ayant des handicaps. - Biologie des troubles physiques et développementaux, pour les scientifiques et les non-scientifiques. - Enjeux transversaux et de catégorisation dans le diagnostic des troubles. - Biologie et génétique des troubles physiques, mentaux et cognitifs, y compris la structure et le fonctionnement du cerveau. Name of Hiring Unit: School of Social Work Course: SWRK 510 – Critical Disabilities Studies, Section 001, CRN 5775 Term/Location/Time: Fall 2026 Term, Wednesdays, 17:35-20:25, Leacock 14 Number of Credits, Number of Course Hours, Value of Contract: 3, 39, $11,824 TQRs: - MSW degree or equivalent. - At least 5 years of demonstrated social work practice experience working in the field of disabilities and rehabilitation. Demonstrated practical application of, and/or teaching/research experience in, the following areas: - Cognitive, physical, and mental disabilities across the life course, from childhood and adolescence to old age within a Canadian context. - Physical disorders including cerebral palsy, other disorders of the motor system, deafness, spinal cord injury, rare genetic disorders, Parkinson’s and Huntington’s disease. - Neurodevelopmental disorders including autism spectrum disorders, seizure disorders, and learning disabilities - Cognitive disorders including traumatic brain injury, Alzheimer’s and other neurodegenerative disorders. - Mental disorders including schizophrenia, addiction, affective disorders, depression, alcoholism, ADHD and other behavioral disorders. - Education, early intervention/funding/services and family centered care, the transition to adulthood, employment, access to health and medical care, independent living, caregiver health and wellbeing, quality of life. - Empirical and policy basis for community rehabilitation and support programs that provide advocacy, education, case management, counseling and other types of support services to individuals with physical and developmental disabilities and their families across the lifespan. - The key theoretical frameworks, research and policy issues in practice with individuals with disabilities. - Expert knowledge of the policies that influence the delivery of health and social services to individuals with disabilities and their families. - Social and economic barriers to the inclusion of persons with disabilities. - The biology of physical and developmental disorders for both scientists and non-scientists. - Cross-boundary and categorization issues in diagnosing disorders. - The biology and genetics of physical, mental, and cognitive disorders, including brain structure and function.
