Senior Accountant for Financial Reporting, Sherwood Park West

Join our Finance team as a Senior Accountant focused on enhancing financial reporting and accuracy. This position emphasizes analytical skills, month-end close processes, and driving improvements.

The Senior Accountant will be crucial in supporting the month-end close process, ensuring the integrity of the general ledger. You'll work closely with the Controller and leadership to validate financial results and provide meaningful insights. This role requires a professional who can identify issues at the source and implement corrective actions proactively.

Key Responsibilities:• Manage monthly close process and ensure general ledger accuracy • Review and approve journal entries, AP, AR, and project invoices • Prepare and analyze complex journal entries and accruals • Conduct variance analysis on financial results with clear explanations• Identify anomalies in GL activity and implement best practices

Requirements:• Extensive experience in senior accounting roles • Strong analytical, detail-oriented mindset • Proficient in financial reporting and analysis techniques • Ability to enhance internal controls and processes • Experience mentoring junior staff and driving improvement
