Accounts Payable Specialist Alberta Beach

Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join a fast-paced construction organization. This role is responsible for high-volume invoice processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance with construction contracts, and timely payments to vendors and subcontractors. The ideal candidate has prior construction industry experience and thrives in a deadline-driven setting. Key Responsibilities Process a high volume of vendor and subcontractor invoices accurately and efficiently Perform three-way matching (invoice, purchase order, receiving documentation) Review invoices for compliance with contract terms, pricing, and approvals Manage construction-specific requirements including holdbacks, progress billing, and change orders Verify subcontractor documentation (e.g., insurance, WCB clearance, lien waivers where applicable) Resolve invoice discrepancies and respond to vendor inquiries in a timely manner Prepare and process payments according to agreed-upon terms and schedules Reconcile vendor statements and investigate discrepancies Assist with month-end close activities, including AP accruals and reporting Maintain organized and auditable AP records in accordance with internal controls Collaborate with project managers, site teams, and procurement to ensure job cost accuracy Qualifications & Experience 3+ years of accounts payable experience, preferably within the construction industry Demonstrated experience processing high volumes of invoices Robust understanding of construction accounting concepts (progress billing, holdbacks, job costing) Experience working with purchase orders and contract-based invoicing Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems (construction software experience is an asset) Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets High attention to detail with solid organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently while meeting tight deadlines Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2o6lqd
