Site Superintendent - Commercial Construction Edmonton, AB | Travel Required We are partnering with a well‑established Western Canadian general contractor that specializes in the design and construction of a diverse range of commercial and industrial developments. The Opportunity An experienced Site Superintendent is required to support projects throughout Alberta, with a primary base in Edmonton. This is a hands‑on, site‑focused role well suited to superintendents who enjoy project variety, leading field teams, and delivering high‑quality builds in multiple locations. You will be responsible for overseeing all on‑site construction activities, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining schedule and quality standards, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities - Lead and manage all on‑site construction activities, including subcontractors, suppliers, and internal site staff - Champion site health and safety programs in accordance with OH&S; legislation and company HSE policies - Coordinate site layout and work closely with surveyors to ensure accurate building layout and elevations - Plan, schedule, and control site activities to ensure projects meet cost, quality, and timeline expectations - Conduct daily site orientations and hazard assessments, maintain detailed daily reports, and track progress against the construction schedule - Ensure projects are constructed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and applicable building codes - Manage site quality control processes and ensure all work meets project‑specific quality requirements - Schedule and chair regular subcontractor coordination meetings - Review drawings, specifications, and shop drawings to confirm compliance - Utilize site‑based computer systems for reporting, scheduling, and communication - (Experience with Procore is considered an asset but not mandatory) Qualifications & Experience - 3+ years of progressive field supervision experience on commercial and/or light industrial construction projects - Journeyperson certification or post‑secondary diploma/degree in a related discipline - Gold Seal Certification preferred - Strong technical understanding of construction methods, materials, specifications, and sequencing - Proven ability to lead a strong safety culture on active construction sites - Solid understanding of contracts, scope management, and risk mitigation - Ability to coordinate multiple trade scopes and maintain schedule alignment - Fluent in English (spoken and written) - Valid driver’s license - Willingness to travel and work on projects throughout Alberta, including out‑of‑town assignments Location & Travel - Primary residence: Edmonton, AB - In‑person, site‑based role - Travel required across Alberta depending on project location Compensation - $100,000 – $145,000 base salary, dependent on experience - Full‑time, permanent position Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2nkig0
