Cattle Truck Driver (Class 1) (Barrhead)

Job Overview We are looking for a reliable and safety-focused Cattle Truck Driver to join our team. This position involves hauls of cattle locally and within the province between farms, feedlots, auction marts and processing facilities. This is a full-time role suited to someone who is comfortable with a mix of day trips and extended hauls in a hands-on agricultural setting. Duties - Safely operate Class 1 cattle trucks to transport livestock between farms, processing facilities, and markets. - Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with transportation regulations. - Load and unload cattle using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or other heavy machinery, ensuring animal safety and comfort. - Maintain accurate delivery logs, transportation documentation, and compliance records. - Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to keep trucks in optimal condition. - Operate forklifts or other heavy equipment for loading, unloading, or yard work when required. - Adhere to all safety protocols related to livestock handling, vehicle operation, and road safety regulations. - Communicate effectively with dispatchers, farm personnel, and clients to coordinate schedules and deliveries.
