Junior Accountant - Insight Global (Alberta Beach)

Insight Global is seeking a Junior Accountant with a strong background in T1 (personal) and T2 (corporate) tax work to join a growing, full-service accounting firm. This role is ideal for someone coming from a small-to-medium sized accounting firm who is comfortable providing hands-on, full-cycle accounting and tax support across a diverse client base. You will work closely with small to mid-sized businesses, delivering end-to-end accounting, bookkeeping, and tax services in a collaborative, primarily remote environment. This is a remote position, but this person will need to sit in or near Edmonton, AB, as they will need to be on-site 1-2 times per month and for year-end meetings. Day-to-Day Responsibilities - Manage a portfolio of small to medium-sized business clients (ranging from $100K–$9M in revenue) - Provide hands-on accounting support, from daily bookkeeping to corporate tax filings - Perform bank reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance - Assist with both T1 (personal) and T2 (corporate) tax preparation and filings - Proactively follow up with clients to gather documentation and ensure financial accuracy - Support clients with backlog cleanup, financial tracking, and ongoing account health - Work remotely using cloud-based accounting tools while participating in weekly team meetings Core Responsibilities - Assist in year-end close processes and preparation of T2 corporate tax returns - Support review of financial statements, journal entries, and tax filings - Manage full-cycle bookkeeping, including daily reconciliations - Coordinate directly with clients to collect and verify financial and tax documentation - Participate in client meetings (virtual and occasional in-person in the Edmonton area) - Ensure accuracy in data entry and maintain organized financial records Required Qualifications - 1–3 years of accounting and tax experience (Junior level) within a small-to-medium accounting firm or practice - Strong exposure to both T1 and T2 tax compliance - Experience supporting small to medium-sized business clients - Proficiency with QuickBooks, CaseWare, and Intuit Profile - Robust attention to detail with ability to manage multiple deadlines - Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting Nice to Have - CPA designation (or in progress) - Experience with cross-border tax (U.S./Canada) or e-commerce clients (Amazon, etc.) - Background supporting high-volume client portfolios Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2oydk9
