Sandwich Shop General Manager (Spruce Grove)

Job Summary We are looking for a dependable, experienced, and hands-on General Manager to lead the daily operations of our sandwich shop. This role is responsible for running the business day-to-day, leading the team, maintaining high food and customer service standards, and ensuring smooth and profitable operations. The ideal candidate is a natural leader who can take ownership of the shop, build a robust team culture, solve problems independently, and keep operations running efficiently without constant supervision from ownership. This is a leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced food service environment and understands how to balance customer experience, staff management, and operational performance. Responsibilities - Oversee all daily sandwich shop operations including front counter service, kitchen workflow, prep, cleaning, and customer experience - Lead, train, supervise, and motivate staff to maintain a positive and productive work workplace - Manage scheduling, shift coverage, hiring, onboarding, discipline, and performance evaluations - Ensure all food preparation, food handling, and sanitation procedures meet health and safety standards - Maintain solid customer service standards and professionally resolve customer concerns or complaints - Monitor inventory, food costs, ordering, and supplier relationships to ensure proper stock levels and minimize waste - Operate and oversee POS systems, cash handling, deposits, and end-of-day reporting - Maintain labor costs and assist with budgeting and operational efficiency - Ensure the shop is clean, organized, and operating smoothly at all times - Take initiative in improving operations, increasing sales, and building strong community relationships - Communicate regularly with ownership regarding performance, staffing, operational issues, and opportunities for growth - Be accountable for opening and closing procedures and overall day-to-day management of the business Qualifications - Previous restaurant, café, quick-service, or sandwich shop management experience preferred - Strong leadership and team management skills - Experience with scheduling, hiring, training, and staff accountability - Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen operations - Experience with POS systems, cash handling, and daily reporting - Ability to multitask and make decisions confidently in a fast-paced environment - Robust communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills - Self-motivated and capable of managing operations independently - Reliable, professional, and customer-focused - Flexible availability including weekends and holidays as needed What We’re Looking For We want someone who treats the shop like it’s their own - a leader who can run the day-to-day operations confidently, keep the team accountable, and create a great experience for both customers and staff while ownership focuses on the bigger picture and business growth.
