Industrial Painter/Sandblaster (Drayton Valley)

Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Industrial Painter/Sandblaster to join our ever growing team. This role involves surface preparation, painting, and finishing of industrial components and structures. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical knowledge, experience with hand and power tools, and familiarity with manufacturing processes. Responsibilities - Prepare surfaces for painting through sandblasting, cleaning, and surface treatment techniques - Apply protective coatings, paints, or finishes using spray guns, brushes, or rollers - Operate machinery such as cranes and forklifts to move heavy materials safely and efficiently - Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and machining tools for surface preparation and finishing tasks - Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe work workplace during all operations - Conduct inspections to ensure coating quality and adherence to specifications - Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment after each job - Assist in assembly or fabrication tasks as needed within the manufacturing process Skills - Mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing equipment and processes - Experience with hand tools, power tools, welding, and machining techniques - Ability to operate cranes and forklifts safely (certification preferred) - Basic math skills for measurements and calculations during surface preparation and coating application - Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow efficiency - Familiarity with assembly processes and use of hand tools in a production setting - Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishes - Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment This role is integral to maintaining high standards of quality in our manufacturing operations.
