Description
Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing organization, is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead operations at their Edmonton facility. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this role is critical in ensuring plant reliability, optimizing maintenance programs, and supporting overall production performance, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Maintenance Manager will oversee all maintenance and repair activities for a busy manufacturing plant. This individual will play a key leadership role in aligning maintenance strategies with production goals, minimizing downtime, and fostering a high-performance, safety-first culture. Key Responsibilities - Lead day-to-day maintenance and repair operations to ensure production targets are met - Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of plant equipment, machinery, and systems - Develop and manage maintenance and production schedules, effectively coordinating people, time, and assets - Implement and enhance preventative and predictive maintenance programs - Monitor and optimize maintenance processes to improve efficiency and reduce downtime - Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the site - Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards - Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, plant leadership, and executive teams - Lead, mentor, and develop maintenance staff while fostering a positive, accountable work environment - Contribute as an active member of the plant leadership team to support overall performance and profitability - Provide support during plant shutdowns, outages, and off-hours operational needs as required Qualifications & Experience - Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager in a manufacturing environment (hands-on leadership style required) - Strong technical knowledge of industrial plant systems (e.g., conveyors, shredders, fans, PLCs, electrical and hydraulic systems) - Experience implementing preventative and predictive maintenance programs (Guide TI or similar systems preferred) - Solid understanding of industrial safety regulations and quality standards - Demonstrated leadership and team development capabilities - Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams and senior leadership Assets: - Post-secondary education in a related field - Journeyman certification (Millwright / Industrial Mechanic) Skills & Attributes - Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability - Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities - Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills - Results-driven with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure - Flexible and responsive to operational demands Working Setting - Industrial manufacturing setting with exposure to varying temperatures and dusty conditions - Required use of PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, safety footwear, etc.) - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (with assistance as needed) - Flexible hours required, including support during shutdowns and maintenance outages - Occasional travel within the region/provinces This is a full-time, permanent opportunity based in NW Edmonton.
