The Greater Parkland Regional Chamber of Commerce is seeking a highly organized and community minded Administrative Assistant to support the daily operations of the Chamber and help deliver programs, services, and events that support businesses across Stony Plain, Spruce Grove, Parkland County, and the surrounding region. The Chamber plays an important role in bringing businesses together, advocating for their success, and creating opportunities that support a strong local economy. As Administrative Assistant, you will work closely with the Executive Director to ensure the organization operates at its highest standard, while serving as the first point of contact for members, visitors, and community partners. With the Visitor Information Centre being the root of the region’s Chamber’s location, both economic development and cultural and tourist attractions play an important role in the Chamber’s values. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a small team workplace, takes pride in operational excellence, and enjoys supporting community initiatives that strengthen local businesses. What Success Looks Like Success in this role includes effectively supporting the Executive Director, leading with a higher standard of service to our members and visitors, accurate financial and administrative coordination, and well- supported Chamber events and initiatives. - provide day-to-day administrative support to the Executive Director - serve as the first point of contact for members, visitors, and community inquiries - support membership enrollment, renewals, and member communications - coordinate administrative records, correspondence, and documentation - assist with financial administration and coordination with the bookkeeper - support preparation of materials for Board meetings and organizational reporting - coordinate with Event Planner for Chamber events - assist with coordinating tasks related to Chamber events and programs - maintain accurate membership and event records - liaison with marketing team to assist with website and social releases. - periodically support the Visitor Information Centre and provide visitors with resources about cultural & tourist attractions in the region - ensure the Visitor Information Centre is engaging, welcoming and attractive for visitors - support communications and outreach that help strengthen member engagement What You Bring You bring strong organizational, communication, and administrative skills. You have a desire to support the local business community with an interest in local tourism. Experience that will help you succeed in this role includes: - experience in an administrative or coordination role - strong organizational and time management skills - excellent communication and customer service abilities - comfort working independently during regular office hours - basic financial literacy and experience coordinating financial documentation - experience supporting events, programs, or community initiatives - comfort interacting with members, community partners, and visitors - proficiency with common office software and administrative systems - post-secondary education in administration, business, communications, or a related field is considered an asset, and equivalent experience will also be considered This role is based in Stony Plain, Alberta and includes regular engagement throughout the Greater Parkland region, including community meetings, events, and occasional evening/weekend commitments.
