Director of Maintenance-Aerial (St. Thomas)

We are seeking an experienced Director of Maintenance (DOM) to lead, mentor, and oversee our Maintenance organization while ensuring full compliance with Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) requirements. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a hands‑on, people‑focused aviation professional who thrives in dynamic environments and takes pride in building strong teams, maintaining airworthiness, and supporting high‑tempo operations—particularly during seasonal aerial spray campaigns. As Director of Maintenance, you will have full accountability for the continued airworthiness of our rotary and fixed wing fleet , working closely with Flight Operations and senior management. You’ll set maintenance standards, guide technical decision‑making, and serve as the primary regulatory liaison with Transport Canada. This role is ideal for a leader who balances regulatory discipline, operational pragmatism, and team development . Leadership & Team Development - Lead, supervise, and mentor AMEs, apprentices, and maintenance support staff - Build a professional, accountable, and safety‑driven maintenance culture - Establish staffing plans, work priorities, and seasonal deployment schedules - Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and mentorship planning - Promote strong collaboration between Maintenance, Flight Operations, and Management - Foster a positive, team‑oriented workplace grounded in regulatory excellence Maintenance Control & Regulatory Compliance - Exercise full authority over the Maintenance Control System in accordance with CARs - Ensure continuous compliance with all applicable Canadian Aviation Regulations - Oversee maintenance of Eurocopter/Airbus Helicopters, Bell helicopters, and Air Tractor aircraft - Ensure adherence to approved maintenance schedules, AMMs, IPCs, SBs, and ADs - Maintain oversight of technical records, defect control, and component tracking - Act as the primary technical and regulatory point of contact with Transport Canada Operational & Field Support - Coordinate maintenance support for seasonal aerial spray operations and remote sites - Balance aircraft availability with uncompromising airworthiness standards - Provide technical guidance on defect troubleshooting and operational limitations - Support flight operations during peak workload periods as required Budgeting & Asset Management - Develop and manage the maintenance department budget - Control costs without compromising safety or compliance - Oversee inventory, tooling, ground support equipment, and approved vendors - Support fleet planning, aircraft modifications, and major inspections Qualifications & Experience - 3–5+ years of aircraft maintenance experience, including rotary wing operations - Meets Transport Canada eligibility requirements for Director of Maintenance - Experience with Airbus/Eurocopter, Bell, and/or Air Tractor aircraft is a strong asset - Proven leadership experience managing maintenance teams - Strong working knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations - Excellent organizational, communication, and decision‑making skills - Comfortable working in a seasonal, field‑intensive operational setting - Eligible to work in Canada What We Offer - Competitive compensation based on experience - Senior leadership role with direct influence on safety and operational success - Modern, diverse fleet and operations - Long‑term career stability and growth opportunities Only candidates legally entitled to work in Canada will be considered. #J-18808-Ljbffr Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2no6wy
