Facilities Operator - Maintenance in St Thomas (Aylmer)

At our St Thomas facilities, we are seeking a Facilities Operator person on a full-time basis. Facilities Operator You are responsible for maintaining, light servicing and cleaning mechanical and machinery devices, outdoor power equipment throughout the company multiple industrial properties in St Thomas. You would be responsible for minor repairs and maintenance at the facilities. Any specialized repairs you would arrange with and supervise our standby contractors such as roofer, HVAC, electrical, forklift, order pickers etc.. You are not expected to carry out major repairs on such property. Changing of various filters and maintain accurate record keep of all facility operations is essential. Some basic computer skills are required. Yourself and management take great pride in our facilities both internally and externally and strive to have them be the best looking properties in the City. Key Responsibilities - Greasing, lubrication, fluid and oil changes of power equipment - Power washing and cleaning of power equipment - Loading dock servicing \ lubrication \ cleaning - Overhead door lubrications ( not overhead repair! ) An overhead door contractor handles door repairs - Water outdoor plants and lawns as required - Prune hedges, and shrubs to maintain shape and health - Mow lawns, trim edges, and remove weeds - Outside garbage pickup on property grounds - Apply fertilizers, soil conditioners as needed - Weekly roof checks and reports on any maintenance required. An outside contractor handles roof repairs - Prepare soil and plant beds for new plants or seasonal planting - Maintain gardening tools and equipment - Remove garden waste, leaves, and debris - Maintain all safety and maintenance records - Assist with landscaping projects when required - Snow plowing and shoveling in the winter - Maintain maintenance records on all HVAC, generators and other critical infrastructure at all sites - Spreading of ice melting materials in the winter Skills and Qualifications - Basic knowledge of plants, gardening techniques, and landscaping - Able to work on your own with basic supervision or oversight - Previous experience in building maintenance, janitorial work, or industrial operations - 5 years minimum knowledge of outdoor power equipment operation and maintenance - Ability to use gardening tools and both powered and non-powered equipment \ tools safely - Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions - Comfortable working at heights - Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions - Good time management and reliability - Previous gardening or landscaping experience is an asset but not always required Working Conditions - Outdoor work in all types of various weather conditions. - Indoor work in a contemporary clean and employee friendly environment - Physical tasks including bending, lifting, digging, and standing for long periods - Basic computer experience is required for emails and maintenance logs Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $24.00-$26.00 per hour Benefits: - Casual dress - Dental care - Employee assistance program - Extended health care - Life insurance - On-site parking - Vision care Work Location: In person Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2otuih
