Position: Child and Youth Wellness Worker Term: Permanent Full-Time Department: Oneida Family Healing Lodge Division: Community and Social Services Salary: Market-competitive salary range Hours: 40 hours per week, shift work, must be flexible to work days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays Posting Date: May 25, 2026 Closing Date: June 8, 2026, at 4:30p.m. Job Summary The Child and Youth Wellness Worker plays a key role in creating a safe, supportive, and culturally grounded environment for children and youth at the Oneida Family Healing Lodge (OFHL) and for those who are seeking support services. This position is responsible for the timely and effective delivery of services such as advocacy, counselling, programming, outreach, and referrals. The role promotes the overall well-being of children and youth by developing safety plans, creating and delivering programming, and providing one-on-one counselling and support to individuals impacted by violence. This position also provides direct support to children and youth residing at the OFHL and those participating in community-based programs. Responsibilities include facilitating family violence education, group activities, and individualized care plans that address the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of each child and youth. The Oneida Family Healing Lodge is a service facility operating 24-7 and staff are required to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, weekends, statutory holidays, and shift rotation. Education - A Child & Youth Worker Diploma is preferred. - Candidates with a Post-Secondary Diploma in Social Service Worker, Human Services, or those with equivalent or related educational qualifications may also be considered. Experience - Previous experience working in a shelter or social services environment – preferably with women and children facing homelessness, domestic violence, or abuse – is considered an asset. - Previous experience working with First Nation children, youth, and families. - Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of family and/or domestic violence is essential. - A valid Class “G” driver’s license and use of a company vehicle are required.
