Description
We are seeking a Director of Maintenance (DOM) to provide strong leadership and oversight of our maintenance team while ensuring full compliance withTransport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) requirements. Position Summary The Director of Maintenance is responsible for the management, supervision, and performance of the maintenance organization, ensuring the continued airworthiness of both rotary‑and fixed‑wing aircraft. This senior leadership role requires a hands‑on, people‑focused manager who can set standards, mentor staff, and work closely with operations during high‑tempo aerial spray seasons. Key Responsibilities Leadership & • Team Supervision - Lead, supervise, and mentor AMEs, apprentices, and maintenance support personnel - Build a professional, accountable, and safety‑focused maintenance team - Establish clear work priorities, staffing plans, and seasonal deployment schedules - Conduct performance evaluations, coaching sessions, and mentorship planning - Foster strong communication between maintenance, flight operations, and management - Promote a positive workplace culture grounded in teamwork and regulatory discipline Maintenance Control & • Regulatory Compliance - Exercise full authority over the maintenance control system in accordance with the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) - Ensure compliance with CARs regulations - Oversee maintenance of Eurocopter Helicopter, Bell helicopters, and Air Tractor aircraft, etc… - Ensure maintenance is performed in accordance with approved maintenance schedules, AMMs, IPCs, SBs, and ADs - Maintain oversight of aircraft technical records, defect control, and component tracking - Act as the primary technical and regulatory liaison with Transport Canada. Operational & • Field Support - Coordinate maintenance support for seasonal aerial spray operations and remote sites - Ensure aircraft availability while maintaining airworthiness and compliance - Provide technical guidance on defect troubleshooting and operational limitations - Support flight operations during peak workload periods as required Budgeting & • Asset Management - Develop and manage the maintenance department budget - Control maintenance costs without compromising safety or compliance - Oversee inventory, tooling, ground support equipment, and approved vendors - Assist with fleet planning, aircraft modifications, and major inspections Qualifications & Experience - Valid Transport Canada AME license with at least 3‑5 years of experience in Aircraft Maintenance including Rotary wing operations. - Meets Transport Canada eligibility requirements for Director of Maintenance - Experience maintaining Eurocopter/Airbus Helicopters, Bell helicopters, and/or Air Tractor aircraftis a robust asset - Proven supervisory and leadership experience managing maintenance teams - Strong working knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations - Excellent organizational, communication, and decision‑making skills - Ability to operate effectively in a seasonal, field‑intensive environment - Eligible to work in Canada What We Offer - Competitive compensation based on experience - Leadership role with direct influence on safety and operational success - Modern fleet and diverse operations - Long‑term career stability and growth opportunities Ability to commute/relocate - St. Thomas, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required) Licence/Certification - aircraft maintenance Engineer (required) Hours Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2pc7pa
