Climber / Arborist (St. Thomas)

Climber/Arborist Lidster Tree Service is a premium tree care company based in St. Thomas, Ontario. We are growing and looking to hire climbers at all levels. We focus on professional, safe, efficient tree work with a robust reputation for clean job sites, excellent customer service, and high-quality results. We are looking for people who want steady work, strong crews, professional equipment, clear expectations, and long-term growth in the tree care industry. Pay ranges from $25–$60 per hour depending on experience, skill level, production ability, certifications, reliability, and leadership potential. Apprentice Climbers: ideal for people with some tree service, chainsaw or forestry experience who want to learn professional climbing, pruning, removals, rigging, and arboriculture. Lead Climbers are experienced arborists who can climb, lead work on site, manage job flow, communicate clearly with the crew, help train others, and make sure work is completed safely, efficiently, and professionally. Experience in tree care, climbing, rigging, pruning, removals, forestry, or arboriculture is preferred, but motivated Apprentice Climbers will be considered. ISA Certification is an asset but not required. A valid g driver’s licence is required. Experience with SRT, DdRT, rigging, crane work, spider lift operation is also an asset. Responsibilities include performing professional tree climbing using approved climbing systems and safe work practices, completing tree removals, canopy reductions, trimming, rigging, and other technical arboricultural work, operating chainsaws, chippers, ropes, rigging equipment, and related tree care tools, working from harness, spider lift, or other equipment when required, supporting the ground crew as needed, following all company safety procedures and job site protocols, communicating clearly with crew members and management, protecting customer property, and ensuring each job site is left clean, organized, and professional. The ideal candidate is reliable, hardworking, safety oriented, and comfortable working outdoors in all seasons.
