Job Details The City of St. Albert is recruiting an individual to join our Recreation & Parks department as a Recreation Program Coordinator. Reporting to the Supervisor, Fitness & Recreation Programs, this position will be responsible for coordination of community fitness and recreation programs and assisting in researching, planning, developing, promoting, implementing and evaluating all aspects of recreation programs. This position provides leadership to approximately 30 - 60 casual staff. Qualifications - 2-year related diploma combined with 3 years of related recreation programming experience, including supervisory experience. - Fitness Alberta Leadership/AFLCA or another related equivalent certification is required. - Certified Personal Trainer (CSEP- CPT) or Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP) is considered an asset. - Alberta Recreation or Parks Association membership is considered an asset. - Knowledge of and understanding of the certifications and education necessary for instructors to deliver programs and services to meet industry standards. - Strong leadership and creative skills to lead a team to deliver outstanding programs. - Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered. Hours of Work - We offer a compressed bi-weekly work schedule of 72 hours, Monday - Friday, 8:00 – 5:00, with a biweekly regular day off (RDO). - Benefit from versatile work hours by adjusting your start and end times by 30 or 60 minutes around our core hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Applicants must be able to work a flexible schedule periodically as start and end times may change based on operational requirements.
